Praying for tornado victims
We are praying for everyone who was in the path of all the awful tornadoes of yesterday. We ask the Lord to bless them, comfort them, and to lead rescuers to those who may still be trapped in rubble. Having gone through Katrina, we know what they are experiencing, and we ask the Lord to give them hope and guard their hearts during the aftermath of this situation. Send your angels of mercy Lord!

Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell...another one of our faves!
"A warm, soft, flour tortilla filled with seasoned beef, warm nacho cheese sauce, a crunchy tostada shell, reduced fat sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes and then wrapped up and grilled for maximum portability". All we can say is "YUM"! Both of us love 'em!

Good Friday
Being "Good Friday" and all, I wax a bit eloquent on the real meaning of the day in history. Who can really conceive of what Jesus actually accomplished for us on the Cross?

Off to school!
End of the vaca from 9th grade for Cuppycake! She's sort of the 1 and 1/2 armed bandit at this point, so she is cleared to rejoin the throngs of adolescents that are busy going hither and thither. (Where IS hither and thither anyway..?) We'll see how today goes. Stay tuned...

Day 5 of the broken bone experience..
Today both of us are hanging out while Cuppycake's broken collarbone continues to heal. It's fun for us to be together, even under recuperating circumstances. Today we plan on sneaking out to Wendy's to get our FAVE salad, the apple/chicken salad! WE LOVE IT!
Last night we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed that full moon, it was beautiful with a nice breeze. If we're up to it, we may do a little gardening today. Translate: Gram will plant stuff and Cuppycake will sit in the swing and advise...
It is beautiful today, sunny and a cool Spring breeze blowing. Spring in Mississippi should not be missed! We are planting tomatoes, zinnias, lantana, and portulaca. The roses and azaleas are in bloom already.

Broken Bones and Other Tings
Finally, I get to post! I had a mishap of the broken bone kind last Friday. I got bucked off of my horse and on the way to the ground, met up with a bunch of wooden jump standards. Bummer. After a visit to the ER, cat scans and xrays, I am sitting at home with my right arm in a sling (and by the way, it's very unattractive..) and 7 stitches in my jaw. The upside is my Gram came to take care of me, and brought me some pink slippers (VERY attractive), not to mention the fact that I get a temporary vaca from 9th grade..woohoo!

a not-so-amusing musing..(DANGER: requires thought!)
The two of us live in different locations: Grandchic-the-elder lives on the Gulf Coast, Grandchic-the-younger lives mid-state. Makes for a good mix of "environmental awareness" sometimes!
Grandchic-the-elder: living on the beautiful tropical Gulf Coast has many pros and a few cons. Of course our surroundings are breathtaking, the gardening opportunities un-surpassed, and the sunsets on the beach..well, only God can paint the sky like that! People are in general "live and let live", of course, with a few exceptions, just like anywhere else. Translation: not much ATTITUDE, friendly-like! We live in a military town, which has its positives. It's very artsy-fartsy here, with colorful architecture and seabreezes thrown in for good measure. Kid-friendly, retiree-friendly, family oriented in general.
On the "con" side..

Charmingcharlie.com: We love it!
Both of us grandchics love Charming Charlie's in the Renaissance shopping mall in Jackson, MS! It's truly accessory heaven! "Charming Charlie can be sensory overload (in a good way). Not only do they serve up an amazing selection, they organize their store by color families. So if you are not up to exploring the vast selection of accessories, you can head straight to the right color family to find your accessories. Accessorizing a red dress and you want “red” or “black” accessories? Make a bee line for those sections. They keep it simple, so your inner fashion-ista can do the rest".

Sweet Amazing Grace, we'll remember you!
A beautiful picture of grandchic the younger with her sweet horse Amazing Grace. We were so sorry to lose her recently!
Grandchics?
Our blog is called "Grandchics". Why, you may ask? We are blessed to be grandmother and granddaughter that's why! We both love writing, reading, cooking, nature, our family, Jesus, and each other, as well as many other interests, both in common and unique to each of us. We like to hear each other's points of view, from opposite ends of the age spectrum. So...here goes..and you are invited to join us in our journey!
